QUESTIONS & ANSWERS ABOUT VOLUNTEER OBLIGATION
Why a Volunteer Program?
The continued success of MHC is dependent on the volunteer efforts of its members. The program is not a way to increase fees, but to increase volunteers to maintain our fee structure and the quality of the club. We appreciate the hard work of our volunteers!
I have more than one child with MHC; Do I need to double the amount of hours worked for each child?
NO, the 4 hour requirement is per family regardless of the number of skaters.
What is required to earn 4 volunteer hours?
Sign up throughout the season for various events that need volunteers, such as: Volunteering as a Head Coach, Team Coordinator or Rostered Assistant Coach; evaluations, equipment fittings/returns, end of season playoffs, club sponsored tournaments, Shark Dance, clinics throughout the season, golf tournament, any approved MHC activities. Please note that the Head Coach, Rostered Assistant Coaches, and Team Coordinators get 4 credit hours for these positions and do not have to do a specific volunteer shift.
What if I am unable to fulfill my commitment
If you're unable to fulfill your volunteer requirements before the end of regular season, your check will be cashed. A number of club members will work your shift for a fee. Contact the Volunteer Director for this information. If you don’t sign-up to work a shift or FAIL TO SHOW FOR YOUR SCHEDULED SHIFT, your check will be cashed.
What happens to my checks after working my shift?
Volunteer checks will be shredded at the end of the month that you work.
